Due to the optimization in the field of electronic-optical instrumentation, in November 2021, BIFO company (www.bifocompany.com) became part of the R-5 department of VNIIOFI

Main tasks
  • Development and production of electronic-optical equipment for image registration and measurement of parameters of high speed phenomena, such as:
    • combustion, explosion, shock and detonation waves, expansion of soil or elements of explosive shells and structures, ballistics of bodies tossed with up to cosmic velocities, and their interaction with an obstacle or target;
    • natural (lightning) and artificial electrical discharges in gas and other media;
    • various pulsed radiation in the range from near-IR to hard X-ray, including laser, interactions between matter and various types of radiation, including weak (with biological objects), powerful and super-powerful, both optical, laser, and corpuscular (electronic, ionic and other beams), etc.
  • Verification and calibration of electronic-optical measuring equipment.
  • Manufacture of streak tubes and streak tube based high-speed cameras, as well as auxiliary equipment - pulse generators, photo sensors for synchronizing cameras with processes, etc.
  • Commissioning of the supplied equipment, user training, equipment presentations, joint demonstration experiments and joint scientific research.
  • Warranty and post-warranty service of equipment.

FOCL-01 Fiber optic communication line

Device is designed to connect television and streak cameras with a PC in conditions where connection using a conventional USB cable is impossible (electromagnetic interference, a large distance from the camera, background radiation, etc.). The line consists of a duplex multimode fiber optic cable of 100 or more meters in length, two transceivers and a power supply. The transceivers are converters of an electrical digital signal from USB standard into an optical one with a built-in four-port USB hub, allowing up to 4 streak cameras or other digitally controlled devices (oscilloscopes, monochromators, etc.) to be remotely connected to a PC through such a line.
